Preseason Checklist

To say last track season was a bit different would be a huge understatement, and of course this season will see changes as well. Fortunately, those changes have brought with them new opportunities for some coaches and athletic directors.

A trend we have seen from indoor season is that meets are getting smaller. Now more and more schools are getting their chance to not only host, but to show off their school. Of course, this means making sure you have everything you need to run a successful meet. Do you have all the needed pits, throwing implements, batons, timers? Have you had any of your equipment customized to help show off your school pride?

No matter if your school is hosting an event or not, there are things all coaches should be crossing off your list before the season starts. Besides making sure you have all the equipment, have you checked that everything is in good shape? For some coaches, 2019 might have been the last time they were able to have a good look at their equipment. Have critters gotten into your pits? Is there any damage to your discus or shot circle? Are there large holes in your cage netting. Some of this damage could be a safety hazard to athletes, officials, and spectators.

We’re so excited for everyone who is preparing for their season right now. If you are still wondering what you might need, we do have a very helpful checklist you can download.
